Loose letter handed to Steamboat Letter Carrier at the dock in Boston, "U.S. EXPRESS MAIL BOSTON" September 17, 1857, unpaid letter rated 6[d] due to Kentville, Nova Scotia.

New York, New York, April 20, 1859, three 3¢ dull red Type III 1857s and 1¢ blue Type V 1857 pay the 10¢ treaty rate to Nova Scotia.  The cover was likely handed to the Steamboat Letter Carrier at the dock in Boston, "U.S. EXPRESS MAIL BOSTON" April 19, 1859 (date error).
