(Guion Line)

The Liverpool and Great Wester Steamps Company, Ltd. began sailing between Liverpool and New York in 1866 and began carrying mail in 1870.  The Guion Line operated until 1894.  The Guion Line held a contract with the United States for sailings to Liverpool starting in December 1869; however, there was no contract with Great Britain, so voyages from Liverpool to New York were not contract sailings.
