Lanman & Kemp Postal History
Lanman & Kemp has been in the wholesale and retail drug business since 1808. The company's business correspondence from the late 1850s through the early 1880s is available to collectors. Due to the world-wide nature of their business, their correspondence contains examples of most of the major international postal routes in the pre-UPU period.
The most common countries of origin for Lanman & Kemp correspondence are Cuba, Colombia, England, and Puerto Rico. There is extensive correspondence with most the countries of Central and South America, as well as the major islands of the Carribean.
